Elden Ring DLC: How To Successfully Get Greatsword Of Solitude From Blackgaol Knight Boss? - Tips & Strategies
In Elden Ring’s most successful Shadow of the Erdtree DLC to date, there are dozens of new bosses. Some of them require you to find them with great effort, but some will quietly meet your challenge there, and Blackgaol Knight Boss is one of them.
Although Blackgaol Knight Boss is about the same size as Tarnished, it is difficult to defeat it. You need to develop some combat strategies and learn some combat skills before the battle. In addition, the rewards, for example, Greatsword of Solitude you get after defeating Blackgaol Knight Boss are also very generous, which is worth your time.
This guide will introduce you to the various moves you will encounter when fighting Blackgaol Knight Boss and its weaknesses, so that you can develop corresponding strategies for it. Without further ado, bring your weapons and come with me!
How To Find Blackgaol Knight Boss?
Blackgaol Knight Boss is located in Western Nameless Mausoleum in the game. You need to go through the area northwest of your spawn point in the DLC, where there are Gravebird-infested and gravestone-ridden.
Alternatively, you can go southwest of Three-Path Cross site of Grace and find a tunnel near the Tower Settlement Belurat. By riding your Torrent here, you can greatly increase your exploration speed.
Eventually you will reach the westernmost entrance of Mausoleum surrounded by cliffs. Once you enter, you will encounter a staircase leading to the bottom, and at the end of the stairs is the door to the arena where you fight the Blackgaol Knight Boss. Once you step in, the battle begins.
If you are unfortunate enough to die during the battle, you will not respawn at the original Site of Grace, but at the entrance to the arena. When you’re ready, you can re-enter the arena.
But please note that if you fail the battle, you will not be rewarded with Elden Ring Runes. So before you challenge again, please make your build more powerful. The most important thing is survivability and damage ability.
Pre-Battle Preparation
With the location of Blackgaol Knight Boss solved, now you need to understand its weaknesses so that you can strengthen them. First, the armor of Blackgaol Knight Boss is very thick, so when choosing a build, you can directly abandon those that rely on melee attacks and choose some that rely on sorcery and incantations.
In addition, Blackgaol Knight Boss has a very high resistance to Bleed, Frostbite, or Scarlet Rot, so when choosing weapons, you should avoid damage from these elements. This enemy has no resistance to Magic and Lightning damage, so when choosing a class, you can choose those Sorcerers and Incantation-wielders.
In addition, if you don’t want to change builds or classes frequently, you can also directly use spells like Greatblade Phalanx, which can also cause a lot of magic damage to Blackgaol Knight Boss.
Blackgaol Knight Boss’s Moves
Now you need to know what moves Blackgaol Knight Boss will use, and how to counter them during the fight. These counter-attack strategies are just for reference, and it’s totally fine if you try to find a strategy that suits your own operation habits.
Greatsword Attacks
Blackgaol Knight Boss will attack you with its Greatsword, and each swing will have a four-hit animation. But whether it is used with one hand or two hands, you can jump to dodge it first, and then use a heavy attack on it. This will effectively prevent Blackgaol Knight from using a combination of attacks on you. If you fail to prevent it, you can hide in a corner for a while and attack again when you have a free time.
Storm Blast And Follow-Up
After swinging Greatsword, Blackgaol Knight Boss will raise it and then fire a wave of physical damage forward, and finally it will quickly dash forward and attack you. What you need to do is to dodge its physical attack wave first, and then retreat or dodge its sprint continuously.
Here you need to remind you that the final sprint attack of Blackgaol Knight Boss will not stop because of your dodge, because it can also be cast at a long distance. So inevitably, you will be injured in this move, and you may need to prepare some healing flasks for emergency use.
Crossbow Barrage
Besides Greatsword, Blackgaol Knight Boss will also use a crossbow to fight you. It will continue to shoot crossbows at you, and the frequency and speed of the shooting will become faster and faster over time. When you are at a medium or long distance from it, you can move along the side of the arena. Don’t roll or dodge, because the moment you stand up, you are likely to be hit by the crossbow and suffer a lot of damage.
Dash Slash
When Blackgaol Knight Boss uses a sword with both hands, it will also dash forward and launch a slash after attacking you several times. At this time, you can dodge to ensure your safety.
Battle Strategy
The above are just the counterattacks you need to do in front of a certain move. But before the battle, your battle strategy is also very important. For example, when Blackgaol Knight Boss is firing and reloading crossbows, it is very vulnerable, so you can attack it immediately at some medium distance.
Slowly walk to the boss at medium and long distances to avoid all the fast-firing crossbows. But it should be noted here that the avoidance mentioned here is walking forward, not just walking to the side, because this will make you fall into the barrage when you stand up.
Blackgaol Knight boss often attacks the player with weapon skills such as Blasphemous Blade, which will launch a wave of physical damage when it lowers Greatsword. It will always follow up with a charge, so be careful to avoid physical explosions and close-range attacks.
If you have trouble with any boss battle in the game, you can always go out and explore other areas to become stronger, and then come back and try again. This is the most effective strategy to defeat any boss in the game.
Blackgaol Knight Boss Rewards
After you successfully defeat Blackgaol Knight Boss in Western Nameless Mausoleum using the right strategy, you can get Greatsword of Solitude and Blackgaol Knight armor set. The armor set is a very defensive and stylish armor set. Greatsword of Solitude mentioned in the title is one of the most powerful weapons in the DLC. You can use it to replicate Blackgaol Knight Boss’s slam and charge combo in battles with other enemies.
In addition, Ash of War of Greatsword of Solitude is also very powerful, which can shoot a beam of physical damage forward. If operated properly, this beam is unavoidable for most enemies and will cause a lot of damage to them.
The above are some strategies and tips for defeating Blackgaol Knight Boss in Elden Ring DLC and obtaining Greatsword of Solitude. I hope this guide helps you overcome it. If you have questions about the build in Elden Ring, you are welcome to ask questions in iGMeet Discord. You will also have the opportunity to get some free runes on it. I wish you a happy game!

Elden Ring DLC: How To Farm ...
Pickaxe is a very exotic Great Hammer in Elden Ring DLC. It has a very large damage output and scales with Strength and Dexterity. In this guide, we’ll talk about how to farm this Pickaxe in the game, and talk about the characteristics of the weapon itself, which you may find interesting even if you are a veteran player of Elden Ring. To farm this weapon, you obviously need to know which enemy will drop it, and the only one who can do that is Miner who wields them. This is important because there is another type of Miner, called Glintstone Miner, also known as the Sorcerer Miner, and they are equipped with Digger’s Staff. Don’t make a mistake, otherwise you will not only not get Pickaxe you need but also waste your time and hard-earned Elden Ring Runes. Ruin-Strewn Precipice If your character is at an intermediate level, the best place to get Pickaxe is at Ruin-Strewn Precipice Site of Grace, which is located on the map. From this Site of Grace, you’ll want to head back to the tunnel to the southeast instead of taking the lift. There are six Miners in this area. Once you reach the open room here, head left immediately. After you see the first Miner, note that there are three more to the east. Next, you’ll need to head toward another tunnel, ignoring Vulgar Militia in the small room to the right, as they’re not doing anything right now. After killing the three Miners, head up the stairs in the middle of the room, and then don’t go any further. Kill the two Miners that are hanging out there and watch to see if they drop anything. If not, run back to Site of Grace and repeat the process until you get Pickaxe. However, if one of them happens to drop something, quickly grab their body and run back to Site of Grace. There’s an invisible trigger on the wooden platform here that will make all four Vulgar Militia in the area come and attack you. It is highly recommended that you simply ignore them, as they will only distract you from farming Pickaxe. This is a very simple and straightforward farming route. And since there is a Site of Grace nearby, it is very necessary to spend Elden Ring Runes in advance to get some consumables that increase Item Discovery. Limgrave Tunnels If you choose to farm Pickaxe with a newly created character, the best place to farm will be another choice, which is Limgrave Tunnels. There are two areas in this place that can be farmed. If you are going to use any consumables to increase Item Discovery, then you can start from Site of Grace and head to the next area. There are 5 Miners there, 3 on the wooden walkway and 2 on the ground. You need to kill Miner on the walkway, then go down and kill Miner in the alcove on the wall and another Miner resting near some crates. After checking the loot, run back to Site of Grace and repeat this operation until you get Pickaxe. But if you don’t plan on using consumables to increase Item Discovery, then go deeper into the tunnel until you reach the first lift, from which you must jump down to continue through this dungeon. There are also 5 Miners in this area, but they are closer to each other. Kill the first Miner in front of you, then check the other one on the right. After that, go left and kill the remaining three Miners. Once you’ve completed the task, the next thing you have to do is to end your character’s life by jumping into the elevator shaft. After that, choose to respawn at Stakes of Marika, and you will be taken to the same area you just cleared. Repeat the operation until you get Pickaxe you want. Don’t forget to restore your runes on each run. Farming Tips Now let’s recommend a few things that can make this farming process easier. Since Miners are protected by something like a hard stone skin, they are really resistant to physical damage. So obviously, it is extremely unwise to attack them with some melee weapons. In addition, since the most effective physical damage against them is Strike, and they are not very resistant to elemental damage, especially Fire. So we can take advantage of this and deal with Miners faster. If you start with Astrologer or Prisoner, you can rush to the farming site because the two Sorcery that come with them are very effective against Miners, and using Sorcery is the most effective way to eliminate them. Now, if you start with Prophet or Confessor classes, you can use Catch Flame to fight against Miners. Prophet class has this Incantation from the beginning, but Confessor does not. To get it, you need to get it from Brother Corhyn in Roundtable Hold for 600 Elden Ring Runes. Fire is definitely the most effective damage against Miners, but the small disadvantage here is that Catch Flame is a melee range Incantation. So you have to keep an eye on your position at all times, otherwise you will die unexpectedly if you are not careful. Finally, a method that works for all classes and does not require upgrading a single attribute is to use a melee weapon that deals elemental damage and strike damage. There are two weapons to choose from here. The first one is Mace, which you can get from Twin Maiden Husks for 800 runes. The second option is Club, sold by Nomadic Merchant located near Coastal Cave, and is worth 600 runes. About Pickaxe Finally, let’s talk about this Pickaxe itself. First of all, it is the only Great Hammer that can cause Pierce Damage. This is the only type of physical damage it causes. The second thing is that you can’t power stance this Pickaxe with other Great Hammers. We don’t know if this is because Pickaxe is set to the wrong category, or just Greataxe Moveset is more suitable for it, but this is how Pickaxe works in the game. The above is our complete guide to farming this Pickaxe in Elden Ring DLC. You can customize your farming route and method according to your character. Elden Ring: How To Get The ...
Elden Ring is a vast open world game that rewards players for their adventurous spirit by giving them different materials or upgrades. However, if you don’t handle it properly, it is easy to cause underutilization of resources and insufficient storage space. However, you can also get the most out of excess crafting materials and some unusable weapons by selling them, which will earn you a certain number of Elden Ring Runes. In the game, you can prioritize trading some duplicate equipment or unused memories to merchants. In Shadow of the Erdtree, which was released last month, there are also many items added to the game, including some armor sets, weapons and amulets. These items are scattered all over Realm of Shadow, waiting for players to explore. These items can also be traded with merchants. This guide will introduce some items you can trade with merchants in Shadow Of the Erdtree and the base game to make the most of them. Crafting Materials In DLC The crafting system in Elden Ring allows players to use a variety of crafting materials to create items that players need or that help them explore. These crafting materials can be found everywhere in Realm of Shadow, and can be picked up on the ground or obtained by killing enemies. With the addition of some Bell-Bearings, you can sell some crafting materials that you don’t need at the moment. You can get them back through those methods when you need them. For example, after defeating Furnace Golems or exploring the area where the dead Furnace Golems are located, you will find crafting materials similar to Furnace Visage. These materials can be used to make Hefty Furnace Pot, but if you don’t need the crafted items, you can trade these crafting materials with merchants in exchange for some Elden Ring Runes. Redundant Armor Sets And Weapons In DLC In addition to the weapons and armor sets you can get from chests for Remembrances, you can also get them by defeating enemies in the DLC. Some enemies in Realm of Shadow, such as Fire Knights and Messmer Soldiers, have a chance to drop their armor pieces and the weapons they carry when you defeat them. When defeating an excessive number of such enemies, whether your goal is to obtain these equipments or to make your way forward smoother, you will get a lot of duplicate armor and weapons. However, these are very space-consuming in your inventory, so the best way to deal with them is to sell them to merchants. Otherwise, it is also a good idea to just discard them, but it is a bit of a waste compared to the small amount of Elden Ring Runes you can get from selling them. Rowa Raisin In Base Game In Elden Ring, Rowa Raisin is not a consumable item for you, but a consumable item for your most trusted mount, Torrent. It is a very good healing item for Torrent, which can restore a lot of Torrent’s health. However, in actual combat, in most cases, players will not be hit by enemies while on Torrent, so Rowa Raisin is not very useful. The raw material for making Rowa Raisin is Rowa Fruit, which can be found in various places in Lands Between, so there is no need to worry about the amount you can get. Although the price given by merchants for Rowa Raisin is not high, it can still contribute greatly to your upgrade path. Duplicate Gear In Base Game Like the redundant weapons and armor sets mentioned above, duplicates are useless, but can be used to earn some Elden Ring Runes. For some dual-wielded weapons, such as Katanas and Whips, which require you to equip a duplicate weapon of the same type on the other hand, this is not a big deal. However, it should be noted that some paired weapons, such as Claws and Starscourge Greatsword, will automatically equip a duplicate weapon when you press the ability button. Here, the duplicate weapon is useless and can be safely handed over to merchants, which will not weaken your ability. Similarly, except for the mission-specific armor sets, most unnecessary duplicate armor can also be sold to merchants. Remembrances In Base Game Every time you defeat a boss or enemy, you will receive some Remembrances, which are special souls. You can take these Remembrances and trade them with Finger Reader Enia for abilities that match the boss, either weapon abilities or magic abilities. In addition, you can trade them with merchants for about 20,000 to 50,000 Elden Ring Runes each. Another way to get a lot of Remembrances is to copy previously acquired Remembrances of Wandering Mausoleums. This way, whether you use them to gain abilities or runes, you will get the most out of them. Excess Ashes Of War In Base Game There are 91 Ashes of War abilities in the base game, which is amazing! Each piece of equipment, whether it is a weapon or a shield, has its own slot for Ashes of War, and special equipment also has unique slots. This means that at any point in the game, you will have more Ash of War abilities than you need. In the game, you need to learn to switch your Ash of War abilities constantly according to different scenarios and situations. After you use some Ash of War abilities, you can keep some of them frequently and sell the unused or useless Ash of War abilities directly to merchants. Now that you know how to reuse these items, check your warehouse to see if you have any. Don't let these heavy items hinder your exploration!Jul-14-2024

Elden Ring: These New Range ...
In Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, besides providing players with a new area, some new bosses, and some new armor, some ranged weapons have been added, including bows, crossbows, and Repeating Crossbow, which allow you to defeat enemies without getting in close contact in combat. Among the new ranged weapons in DLC, there are bows with high damage and great scaling, and some of them can fire multiple arrows after a single reload. In addition, there are some Talismans that are more effective when used with some of them. Here are the new ranged weapons added to Shadow of the Erdtree. Repeating Crossbow Status Requirements: 13 Strength & 15 Dexterity Max Damage (+10): 259 For Physical Repeating Crossbow does exactly what it says, firing multiple arrows in rapid succession when using Repeating Fire skill, which means it can deal continuous damage to enemies. Like the other Crossbows in Elden Ring, it doesn’t follow any of your stats, but if you feed it enough Somber Smith Stone, it can go from a backup weapon to your major weapon. Want to know where this powerful weapon is? You need to go to Site of Grace south of Moorth Highway and then walk north. Here you can find Repeating Crossbow next to Ghostflame Dragon and some Elden Ring Runes. Igon’s Greatbow Status Requirements: 23 Strength & 16 Dexterity Max Scaling (+25): C Strength & E Dexterity Max Damage (+10): 294 For Physical If you want to use your Strength build to fight the enemy, Igon’s Greatbow will be your best choice. Not only because of its excellent scaling and high base damage but also because it has Igon’s Drake Hunt, a wonderful skill in the game. In this weapon, because it is an advanced version of Through and Through, you can twist the bowstring to increase its power. In addition, you can also match it with Igon’s Harpoons to get the maximum damage to the enemy. Unlike Repeating Crossbow, Igon’s Greatbow only needs Smith Stones to upgrade, so the upgrade conditions of this weapon are simpler. Since it is Igon’s Greatbow, you must summon Igon. However, you don’t summon it to fight it, but to let it help you defeat Bayle The Dread, a dragon entrenched in Jagged Peak. After you win, Igon will leave its bow and armor to you. Spread Crossbow Status Requirements: 11 Strength & 17 Dexterity Max Damage (+25): 272 For Physical Spread Crossbow provides you with the easiest way to counter the various status effects generated by the boss. This is because the most basic attack of Tarnished is to fire multiple arrows at once, and can make the boss suffer sleep or blood loss effects depending on the type of arrows. Its skill, Kick is not surprising, but fortunately its upgrade material is also Smith Stones that can be found everywhere, which can make it slightly more useful. However, you still need to be careful that you need to have enough arrows equipped, because Spread Crossbow will consume arrows very quickly. Spread Crossbow is guarded by Messmer Soldiers on the right side of Ellac Greatbridge. You need to cross the bridge (or river) and defeat them to obtain this weapon. Ansbach’s Longbow Status Requirements: 9 Strength & 43 Dexterity Max Scaling (+10): D Strength & D Dexterity Max Damage (+10): 181 For Physical Thanks to its ability, Fan Shot, Ansbach’s Longbow is one of the best Longbows in the game. It can fire 8 arrows at once, and with some stats, even the biggest bosses will be affected by bleeding or rot. Although it may seem that this weapon requires very little Strength, don’t forget that you need to reach 43 Dexterity to use it. Check your Dexterity now! Like Repeating Crossbow, as long as you use enough Somber Smith Stones, you can get a better chance of winning in battle. Before you can get Ansbach’s Longbow, you need to make sure you have completed Ansbach’s quest in Shadow Keep. Completion here means that it is possible to kill him directly or help him fight invaders. Bone Bow Status Requirements: 8 Strength & 11 Dexterity Max Scaling (+10): D Strength & D Dexterity Max Damage (+10): 161 For Physical Although Bone Bow is not as outstanding in terms of damage compared to other weapons, it can stand out in Light Bow category with its own skill Rancor Shot. Light Bow allows players to fire a series of energy-infused arrows and is difficult to miss. In addition, its long range and lightweight are also plus points for it. Somber Smith Stones mentioned above are also its upgrade materials. Remember to pick up more Somber Smith Stones during the exploration process. The location of Bone Bow is in Belurat Tower Settlement you will see when you first enter DLC, or more specifically, in a tower with a broken spiral staircase. The process of taking it is not smooth sailing, but don’t worry, Spider-Scorpions inside are no match for you. Hopefully, these ranged weapons will play an important role in your battles. Have fun playing Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree and exploring more stories!Jun-30-2024

Elden Ring: How About This ...
For a Samurai build who wants to level up quickly in the latest expansion, I prefer to prioritize finding one of the newest weapons that fits our play style, Great Katana. Many players are also looking forward to getting this weapon. If you want to get Great Katana as early as possible in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree without being spoiled, then don’t miss this guide. In this guide, I tell you the best way to get the earliest Great Katana in the game, as spoiler-free as possible so that you can get a fresh experience before venturing into the core of DLC. At the same time, here I also provide my first impressions of Great Katana. Without further ado, let’s get started! Great Katana Breakdown Great Katana is a new weapon in Shadow of the Erdtree. This Heavy weapon is a sound choice for those who like to use Katana but want to stance-break more effectively and deal more damage at the same time. Great Katana scales primarily with Strength and Dexterity, making it one of the best weapon choices for Dexterity and Arcane Builds. In addition, this weapon comes with Ash of War: Overhead Stance. When using Ash of War, you can enter a stance that holds Katana high above your head. Normal attacks will push you forward for a downward slash, while heavy attacks will do a series of overhead slashes. Location To get this super cool weapon, we still need to access DLC. You need to first defeat Starscourge Radahn, then go to Mohgwyn Palace and defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood. Once you’ve completed both of these steps, you can interact with Miquella’s Cocoon, which is located in Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum, where you’ll fight Mohg, thus entering Land of Shadow and starting DLC. Although we need to enter DLC to get this weapon, luckily, we don’t have to fight any bosses in Land of Shadow. Once you enter DLC area, we just need to head straight to it. This is a real Godsend, as it’s not far from your first Site of Grace, Gravesite Plain. From Gravesite Plain Site of Grace in DLC, we need to head north. To speed things up, you can ignore all the enemies you may encounter along the way. Of course, if you’re not in a hurry, you can just hack and slash around to collect some Elden Ring Runes. Our goal is to reach a lake located just north of our current location. Now, if you look at the map, you’ll see that there are three large lakes around this area, but the one we need to go to is the middle one. Once you reach the location, you’ll notice a sleeping dragon. You don’t need to fight this mini-boss, as you can get around it by crouching down. Note that there is a corpse near the dragon, and that’s the corpse we need to loot. Slowly crouch down close to the corpse and loot it to get Great Katana. It’s totally simple and easy. Personal Impressions Great Katana looks and feels great when wielded. I knew this weapon would resonate with me the first time I saw it, and it didn’t disappoint. All of its current moves are really refreshing. Its normal attack reminds me of Monster Hunter’s Longswords, especially when performing an upward swing. Its basic skill Overhead Stance is definitely familiar and Sekiro players will notice it immediately because it is similar to Ichimonji Combat Arts. There is no doubt that this skill hits like a truck. However, because of its long preparation time, doing this stance may be intimidating to some people. But since I go for skill, I am happy with it. Of course, if you don’t like this skill, you can always change it. Not to mention that we will see a lot of new Ashes of War in DLC area, which makes this weapon have a longer range, so I think it will be a deadly tool when playing PVP. As for damage, Great Katana hits hard at the maximum upgrade, but its slow attack speed is very obvious. When dealing with fast-moving targets or bosses, such as Maliketh, the Black Blade and others, the safest attack we can perform per opening is two or three hits. Conclusion Overall, Great Katana feels really good so far and it hasn’t been disappointed. I can’t wait to build around it, and just thinking about the different Samurai theme setups we can get from it makes me excited. So, expect me to provide an early Samurai Build in case you want to use such a build for your first play with this weapon in DLC. My major goal is to get you to master this weapon, so stay tuned. Anyway, I hope you found this quick guide useful. Of course, this is not a be-all and end-all guide for Great Katana, as we’re sure to discover more potential for this legendary weapon as time goes on. Do you think this DLC is worth trying so far? If you already own this weapon, please share your experience with us!Jun-21-2024
