Elder Scrolls Online: A Beginner's Guide to Dungeon Crawling
Are you eager to embark on thrilling dungeon adventures in Elder Scrolls Online (ESO) but feeling a bit overwhelmed? Look no further! This guide will demystify the basics of dungeon crawling in ESO, making your journey into these epic four-player adventures smoother and more enjoyable.
What Are Dungeons in ESO?
Dungeons in ESO are epic four-player adventures that require teamwork and coordination. Unlike public instanced areas, dungeons are private instances where you'll only encounter players from your group. While a balanced team typically consists of two damage dealers, a healer, and a tank, ESO offers flexibility, allowing for different team setups or even solo dungeon runs if you're feeling adventurous.
Dungeon Difficulty Levels
Dungeon difficulty in ESO can vary. Normal dungeons are an excellent starting point and become available as you level up. They unlock progressively, introducing tougher enemies as you go along. Some base game dungeons offer both normal and veteran versions, with the latter being more challenging. Veteran mode becomes accessible at level 50 and significantly increases the difficulty for your entire group.
Understanding Dungeon Difficulty:
Normal Base Game Dungeons: These are your starting point, suitable for players around level 10. As you level up, more dungeons unlock, each progressively harder. Some base game dungeons have mechanics that are manageable on normal but deadly on veteran difficulty.
Normal DLC Dungeons: Falling between part 2 normal dungeons and base game veteran dungeons in terms of difficulty, these dungeons are mechanic-heavy. Success often depends on understanding and executing mechanics correctly.
Veteran Dungeons: The next step up, veteran dungeons demand better coordination and skill. To tackle base game veteran dungeons, aim to be at or above CP 160, with appropriate gear, skills, and a strong grasp of your character's abilities.
Hard Mode: Activateable on veteran difficulty, hard mode offers the ultimate challenge. It introduces new mechanics and tougher enemies, making boss fights even more demanding. To take on hard mode dungeons, ensure a fully optimized build, thorough knowledge of your character, and a capable team.
How to Access Dungeons:
Accessing dungeons in ESO is straightforward. You can walk to the dungeon entrance, teleport directly to it using your map, or teleport to a group member who is already inside. Additionally, the Activity Finder provides an efficient way to find groups for dungeon runs.
The Activity Finder Explained:
The Activity Finder is a valuable tool for finding dungeon groups. It allows you to select specific dungeons or queue for multiple dungeons of varying difficulties simultaneously. You can also opt for the Random Dungeon, which provides extra rewards like XP, transmutation crystals, and ESO Gold. Note that the bonus reward is limited to once per character per day for random dungeons.
Dungeon Rewards:
Dungeon crawling in ESO offers numerous rewards, including skill points, unique gear sets, and monster sets. Completing a dungeon quest grants a skill point, and defeating the last boss yields one weapon or jewelry set piece and one body piece from earlier bosses. Monster sets, which consist of head and shoulder pieces, are obtainable from veteran dungeon final bosses and NPC vendors at the Undaunted Enclave.
Dungeon Etiquette:
While dungeon etiquette can vary depending on the group and content, here are some guidelines to ensure a smooth dungeon experience:
Queue for the correct role: Pick the role that matches your character's abilities and stick to it.
Communicate: Share information about quests, mechanics, and issues with your group.
Avoid speed running without team consensus: Ensure everyone is on board before rushing through a dungeon.
Let the tank lead: In boss encounters, let the tank initiate combat.
Watch your positioning: Avoid standing behind the tank and steer clear of AOE damage zones.
Learn boss mechanics: Be vigilant for boss mechanics like channeled attacks that can be interrupted.
Play content you're capable of: Progress through difficulty tiers as you gain experience and gear.
Don't disband the group at the end: Allow players to complete quests and share gear before leaving.
Dungeon crawling in Elder Scrolls Online is an exciting adventure that offers valuable rewards and challenges. By understanding the basics, respecting dungeon etiquette, and choosing the right difficulty level, you can make the most of your dungeon runs and enjoy this thrilling aspect of ESO to the fullest. Remember, the ESO community is generally friendly and passionate, so don't hesitate to join in on the adventure!

How To Unlock Legerdemain S ...
Legerdemain is a skill line you can unlock in ESO that has some handy passives, especially if you like sneaking around and stealing things. It’s an easy one to unlock and you may have already unlocked it without noticing. You will find the Legerdemain skill line in the world category. And if it’s not there, then all you need to do is pick a lock or pickpocket someone and it should pop up. This article will specifically introduce how to unlock Legerdemain Skill Line in Elder Scrolls Online in detail. 1. Unlocking Legerdemain: - Look for the Legerdemain skill line in the world category. If it's not there, pick a lock or pickpocket someone to trigger its appearance. 2. Leveling Legerdemain: - Lockpicking: Engage in lockpicking activities such as chests, houses, and lockboxes. Higher difficulty locks yield more points. Be cautious when stealing from houses, as it may result in a bounty and trouble with guards. - Pickpocketing: Sneak behind NPCs and press 'E' to pickpocket them. Harder targets grant more points. Be aware that getting caught will lead to a bounty and guards pursuing you. - Stealing & The Fence: Steal items to be sold or laundered at a fence. Take stolen items to a fence to sell them or launder them if you wish to keep them. Each sold or laundered item earns one point. Note that there are daily limits on selling and laundering items, so leveling this skill line may take some time. Invest skill points into the Trafficker passive to increase the number of fence interactions per day. 3. Daily Legerdemain Routine: - Visit the docks in Daggerfall, Glenumbra, and loot both ships. This should provide you with enough items to sell or launder. The fence is conveniently located nearby, making it an ideal spot for leveling Legerdemain. This routine also helps you avoid dealing with guards and breaking into people's houses. 4. Bounties: - If you acquire a bounty, you can go to the Fence to pay it off. Bounties are acquired by committing crimes and are measured in ESO Gold. The size of your bounty depends on the severity of the crime. - Guards will approach you to collect the bounty whenever you pass by. You can choose to pay the bounty, which will remove stolen items from your inventory. If you don't pay, guards will attack you until you escape or are defeated. The infamy meter indicates your current status. - Bounties can also be cleared using Edicts obtained from certain quests and daily login rewards. Save them for when you have a significant bounty that you don't want to wait to clear. 5. Thieves Guild: - Consider joining the Thieves Guild as it complements Legerdemain. Allocate skill points to skills like haggling, which increases the amount of money you receive for items sold at the fence. The Thieves Guild offers other passive skills that can be useful when dealing with guards. Remember to exercise caution while engaging in illegal activities and avoid getting caught. Have fun exploring the criminal side of Elder Scrolls Online with the Legerdemain skill line!Jun-19-2023

How Strong are the Arcanist ...
Today we'll show the three new Ultimate abilities coming with the Arcanist class in ESO Necrom. Like all classes, the Arcanist has three skill lines, each one including an Ultimate ability that has a basic version and two morphs. The Unblinking Eye Ultimate The Unblinking Eye is the ultimate ability in the Herald of the Tome skill line, the DPS focused skill line of the Arcanist Class. This ultimate summons a Watcher above your head that will deal heavy damage in a small AOE with its beam attack. Its two morphs are The Languid Eye and The Tide King's Gaze. The Languid Eye is the strongest morph in terms of its damage output - while it has a shorter duration than the other morph, this is more than made up for because its damage value increases 7% each tick (it ticks every 0.5 seconds for 6 seconds). The total damage output from this skill is quite similar to Elemental Storm, a commonly used ultimate for DPS characters. It also costs less ultimate to cast, 200 instead of 250, however the radius is smaller. So using this as your main DPS ultimate is definitely viable. On the other hand, The Tide King's Gaze deals less damage but lasts for 8 seconds instead of 6, and it also automatically follows your target wherever they go, rather than needing to be manually retargeted. This makes it more suited to PvP situations as it prevents your opponent from avoiding the damage. Gibbering Shield Gibbering Shield is the Apocryphal Soldier ultimate, and like the entire skill line it is focused on mitigating damage, making it ideal for a tank. This skill gives you a strong health-scaled damage shield for 10 seconds, which will reflect all absorbed damage to nearby enemies as an AOE DoT when it expires or is broken. This damage reflection is spread out over another 10 seconds. The first morph of this ultimate is Gibbering Shelter, which removes the damage reflection but instead grants up to six allies a fairly strong damage shield whenever your shield absorbs damage. This is definitely the best option if you're tanking a dungeon or trial with a group, the shields you give to your allies will help to keep them alive during tough parts of the fight. However you honestly might be better off just using Barrier if you want a good shield ultimate for your team. The other morph is Sanctum of the Abyssal Sea which just gives you a somewhat stronger shield compared to the unmorphed version, which also has the side-effect of slightly increasing the amount of damage you can reflect. While this damage reflection might sound good on paper, it's generally not that helpful in PvE , and in PvP opponents can pretty easily move away from you to avoid the damage. This skill is a nice idea on paper but in most situations it really doesn't feel strong enough to compete with existing skills. Vitalizing Glyphic Vitalizing Glyphic is the ultimate from the Curative Runeforms skill line, focused on healing and buffing yourself and allies. It's a pretty unusual skill in terms of how it works - it summons a glyphic which pulses every second, healing nearby friends and increasing their weapon & spell damage. Healing the Glyphic increases the effect. Glyphic of the Tides is the first morph of this skill, which just causes the Glyphic to spawn at a higher health percentage than the original. Healing the glyphic isn't that hard so this is only a minor buff. The skill's effect in general though is pretty interesting - having an Arcanist in your group drop this into the group gives us another new way to buff the damage output of DPS players, which basically gives us another skill to use in optimized raids besides Aggressive Horn and Frozen Colossus. Arcanist healers definitely have something new to bring to the table thanks to this ultimate, and that's great. The other morph, Resonating Glyphic, has the same effect but instead gets stronger the lower its health is. This might be preferred if you don't have a healer in your group or if you're playing solo - you can pretty easily get the Glyphic down to 0% health with some AOE effects, which will maximise the effect of the buff and heal. This ultimate is definitely going to bring something new to the table for optimised groups in PvE, and probably PvP too. It will be interesting to see if this finds a place in the meta or if it will just be an interesting off-meta option.May-16-2023
